Sales incentive success for over 12,000 strong Vodafone retail team

Vodafone is a leading technology communications company. Vodafone UK believes superfast connectivity and technology is key to unlocking the UK’s potential and improving the future.

Summary: Vodafone partnered with Incentivesmart to launch a year-long campaign whereby retail and call centre staff would earn points for handset sales. An automated daily HR data feed reduced manual workload as all staff were automatically invited to the programme. The platform managed over 12,000 users and their details were continuously kept up to date via the data feed.

The objective: Vodafone worked with Samsung and Sony who were keen to raise their profile within Vodafone stores. They set about creating a 3 month cycle of promotional activity helping to support the handset providers market attention in response to a hype for Apple products.

A recognition and reward programme was created for access to over 12,000 Vodafone retail and call centre staff, to help them learn more about the product specifications, which in turn would increase sales. The platform needed to handle high volume complex employee data structures and match this to sales data, allocating reward points relatively instantaneously.

The solution: Incentivesmart launched the 3 month promotion which went on to become a year-long campaign. The platform accepted HR data feeds on a daily basis. Over 12,000 contacts were added and data sets were unique to each store & call centre. When new names appeared on the feed, automated invitations for registration onto the reward programme were automatically sent.

Anomalies were quickly highlighted to ensure unnecessary points or any incorrect allocation of points were mitigated, ensuring minimum liability which is pretty significant across 12,000 users!

Points were allocated on sale verification to the employees account where they could spend them in an ever-growing catalogue of rewards. From the latest gadgets, books, jewellery, experiences, luxury holidays, and much more, there was something suitable for everyone.
